We Love Graphic Design 2023
We Love Graphic Design is a 1-day conference for creatives. It is held in the Royal Danish Library (the Black Diamond) in October and features inspiring talks from Danish and International profiles from the Creative fields. Every year, the event organizers tap a new designer to create the identity for the event, and in 2023, they asked me.
In Danish, you can say something is in your blood, meaning you have an innate or acquired skill or inclination towards something. That became the central theme for the identity. The faceted shape of the heart also serves as a vessel that can contain the five distinct styles I chose to work with: Mixed media, Pop-art, Strokes, RISO and tangible 3D.

OPENING TITLES
In the introductory segment of the opening, I delve into dimensionality, progressing from point to line, then to shape, and ultimately to the form of the heart. Following the logo reveal, the speakers are introduced, with each intro referencing one of the five styles employed in the initial segment.
SPEAKER 01: EVA CREMERS
For the look of this intro, I took inspiration from some of my mixed media heroes like Bill Sienkiewicz, Svein Nyhus, and Darrel Rees. I wanted to make something that looked crafty with gritty elements and weird textures.
SPEAKER 02: ESRA GÜLMEN
I wanted to make a humorous style with crude textures and clashing colors for this intro. The strokes are a recurrent motif from one of the first segments of the event ident.
SPEAKER 03: MATILDE DIGMANN
When I researched RISO printing, I came across a lot of geometric work with an almost architectural quality. That inspired me to build the name out of blocks in a city-like constellation.
SPEAKER 04: STIG MØLLER HANSEN
For this intro, I decided to rely on the soundtrack and play around with simple shapes while sticking to the Roy Lichtenstein/comic-strip inspired palette with visible raster.
SPEAKER 05: Bo Bergstedt
While using some of the elements from the intro, I wanted to create a slick, photorealistic, studio-like 3D look for this intro.
Breakers
Following each speaker, a short breaker animation helped set the stage for the next speaker. The breakers had the heart rotating, metaphorically turning a page, switching from one style to another. This final breaker went through all five styles.
